Discover the history, culture and traditions of Salvador on a complete tour through some of the most iconic places in Brazil's first capital.
The tour begins with a visit to Forte de Santo Antônio da Barra, built in 1536 to protect the Bay of All Saints. The famous Barra Lighthouse, installed in 1698, is located here and has become one of the city's main landmarks.
We will continue through Corredor da Vitória and Largo do Campo Grande, one of the traditional settings of Salvador's famous Carnival.
The next stop will be Pelourinho, the historical and cultural heart of the city. At Praça Municipal, we will enjoy a beautiful view of the Lower City, including the Lacerda Elevator, Mercado Modelo and Salvador Port. The tour continues to Praça da Sé, home to the ruins of Brazil's first basilica and the former Archbishop's Palace.
We will also visit Largo do Pelourinho, the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary of the Black People and the Jorge Amado Foundation, places that reflect Salvador's rich cultural and religious heritage.
During the panoramic tour, we will pass through Largo de Roma, home to the monument dedicated to Saint Dulce of the Poor and the headquarters of Obras Sociais Irmã Dulce (OSID).
We will also visit the traditional Bonfim Church, an important pilgrimage site in Salvador. There will be time to explore the church and participate in the traditional colorful ribbon ritual, a symbol of Bahian faith and culture.
At Dique do Tororó, we will admire the impressive orixá sculptures created by artist Tati Moreno and pass by the Arena Fonte Nova.
We will finish the tour with a stop at Mercado Modelo, one of Salvador's most traditional commercial and cultural centers, perfect for discovering local handicrafts and taking home a souvenir from Bahia.
